A developing initiative focused on increasing access to outdoor residential experiences for youth groups, schools, and community organisations through shared, reusable camping infrastructure.
Overview
The programme explores how modular, reusable camping infrastructure can be shared across communities to reduce barriers to outdoor participation. Through mobile camp kits — including bell tents, sleeping equipment, communal shelter systems, and field kitchen infrastructure — the initiative aims to support safe, low-cost, and environmentally conscious outdoor learning experiences.
The concept is being developed as a scalable regional model that combines shared outdoor equipment resources, circular and reusable infrastructure systems, mobile logistics and storage solutions, and community-led access to nature and residential outdoor education.
The long-term vision is to create a network of deployable camp infrastructure hubs capable of supporting youth programmes, environmental education, leadership development, and community resilience activities across Europe.
Why This Matters
Outdoor residential experiences are becoming increasingly inaccessible for many young people due to rising accommodation, transport, and infrastructure costs.
At the same time, many organisations lack the equipment, storage capacity, or operational support required to run safe outdoor programmes independently.
This initiative explores a different model: shared, reusable outdoor infrastructure designed to reduce costs, expand access, and support local youth organisations through collaborative systems rather than permanent fixed facilities.
