Outdoor Learning Partnerships

Community-powered outdoor education for schools

Outdoor Learning Partnerships brings a school or youth group together with an outdoor provider, local businesses, local councils, and the local community to raise the funds needed to invest in outdoor education.

Each partnership is built around a single goal: helping a school give its young people meaningful outdoor learning experiences — from residentials and day trips to staff training that builds confidence in learning outside the classroom.

The Model

How a partnership works

One school. One community. One shared goal.

Each partnership is tailored to the school and the community around it.

01

Partner with a school or youth group

We start with a school or youth group that wants to invest in outdoor learning but needs support to make it happen.

02

Build a local partnership

We bring together an outdoor provider, local businesses, local councils, and the wider community around a shared goal.

03

Raise funds together

The partnership works collaboratively to raise the money the school needs — combining contributions, sponsorship, grants, and community fundraising.

04

Invest in outdoor learning

Funds are directed toward residentials, day trips, staff training, and resources that help young people learn outside the classroom.

The Partnership

Who comes together

Every partnership is a collaboration between five groups, each playing a distinct role in helping young people get outdoors.

Schools & Youth Groups

The hub of each partnership — defining the outdoor learning vision and the outcomes they want for their young people.

Outdoor Providers

Experienced outdoor education centres and expedition providers who deliver meaningful, safe, high-quality experiences.

Local Businesses

Community-rooted businesses contributing funding, resources, or expertise as part of their local social responsibility.

Local Councils

Municipal and regional authorities helping to unlock public funding, venues, and community connections.

Local Community

Parents, volunteers, and community groups coming together to support outdoor learning for their young people.

The Investment

What the funds support

Money raised through each partnership is invested directly into the school's outdoor learning capacity — helping staff and students make the most of learning outside the classroom.
